{"id":2540,"date":"2021-12-08T13:45:07","date_gmt":"2021-12-08T13:45:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/discoverarta.gr.144-76-38-75.comitech.gr\/events\/giorti-kastanou-tsipourou\/"},"modified":"2021-12-08T13:59:16","modified_gmt":"2021-12-08T13:59:16","slug":"giorti-kastanou-tsipourou","status":"publish","type":"events","link":"https:\/\/discoverarta.gr\/en\/events\/cultural\/giorti-kastanou-tsipourou\/","title":{"rendered":"Chestnut and Tsipouro festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p2\">In the mountainous villages of Rodavgi and Pistiana, the local cultural associations and the Municipality of Arta organize the Chestnut and Tsipouro Festival.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In mid October thousands of people gather in these villages in order to enjoy a traditional party with dancing, songs and dance groups from associations from all over Greece. Roasted and boiled chestnuts, chestnut soup, pancakes and tsipouro have a field day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Tsipouro, pancakes and chestnut soup are offered for free to every visitor. Tsipouro of Arta is a very special product, since it is distilled from one and only local variety of grapes, namely \u201czambela\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">On the eve of the Festival, the locals organize the \u201cPath of the Chestnut\u201d \u2013 a trekking from the primary school of Pistiana to the square of Rodavgi.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Besides, during the day before the Festival the inhabitants of the village gather in the square in order to prepare the chestnuts, while singing folk songs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":2349,"template":"","events_taxonomy":[74],"acf":[],"aioseo_notices":[],"post_mailing_queue_ids":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/discoverarta.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/events\/2540"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/discoverarta.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/events"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/discoverarta.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/events"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/discoverarta.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/2349"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/discoverarta.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2540"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"events_taxonomy","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/discoverarta.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/events_taxonomy?post=2540"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
